Summary
While it is possible to "repair" or "restore" a drive, i.e. return it to its real value, this is not normally recommended. The memory used in Fake Flash drives is usually of a quality so low that it quite often fails after only a few writes. The time taken to "repair" a fake flash drive is also quite considerable if you include the hours of searching it may take you to find the correct program to "repair" the drive.
However if you have the time (and a lot of patience) you can get a fake flash drive to show the correct size.

*** EVEN AFTER "REPAIR" DO NOT USE THE DRIVE FOR IMPORTANT OR CRITICAL DATA ***

Process
The process is usually a long and arduous one. And you'll require a lot of patience to achieve this.
FixFakeFlash from SOSFakeFlash has published a very good article on repairing counterfeit (Fake) Flash drives. And I would recommend reading it if you decide that repairing your drive is your only option (or if you are just curious).

Ways to avoid buying a fake Ways to avoid
First and foremost. BEWARE BARGAINS ONLINE.
If it seems too good to be true, its probably too bad to imagine.
The most you can usually hope for is a fair price.
While bargain hunting is effective in the real world as you can inspect the goods before purchase, online merchants and stores are intangible. You dont know where they are, or if what they are selling is what they say it is. All you have is their word. In the real world you are protected by your countries Commercial Law, while online you dont know where the merchant is, or what laws are protecting you.
